    Hi,
I have an 80 year old friend who needs to see more than her 4 walls of her apartment. So once a month I take her on a mystery tour....a place I have read about in the paper or magazine or heard about.
I pick her up and then we chat, chat, chat and then I drive to something new which is either a hit or a lot of laughs or a never again....this way life has a breath of fresh air and has wonder....
We try to keep the wonder of life so the tomorrows will have meaning....this is special to both of us
as we have a real conversation and get to experience something new. The mystery tour continues.....

My grandson (age 10) loves to watch the Food Network. Every time he visits we make one easy recipe and he not only gets to cook in a safe environment he is also learning his measurements and the discipline to follow a recipe. This is one boy who won't be eating just mac and cheese when he goes to university! He eats some of his baking while visiting then takes the rest home for school lunches the next week and gets the joy of saying, "I baked it myself" Our last project was a Spamburger Cake....looks like a completely dressed hamburger complete with jello "relish", raspberry "ketchup, etc. A brownie mix is the "hamburger". We had so much fun making this cake and it was delicious. I take a picture of every one of our projects and keep it in a memory book for him...along with the recipe.

I am 32 and almost halfway through chemotherapy for breast cancer. One way I have tried to bring some sunshine in the lives of my loved ones was by shaving a mohawk when my hair began to fall out. My 5 year old daughter thinks is kind of weird and my husband loves it. My mohawk has brought a lot of smiles to friends, family and co-workers in the middle of a tough time.

I am a fun, giggling, fun-loving young adult, and I try to see the bright side to every situation! Prayer and a smile, that's how I bring sunshine into the lives of my friends and family!

I find it quite simply bringing sunshine to others. On a consistent basis I smile and ask how they are doing. I make note whenever someone is undergoing a stressful period to offer assistance or a kind word of encouragement. Sometimes when my budget allows I will puchase a 'pick-me-up or cheer-up' gift. I always make myself available without hesitation to allow family and friends to vent by expressing their frustrations or concerns and I simply listen. If requested I offer advice and/or guidance.

Throughout the year, when I see something that I know someone in my family might like; I buy it for them. Even though I may not give it to them until after their birthday, they are still delighted when they get my gift. One year I found a pair of sunglasses with windshield wipers that I gave my brother, everyone was amused and delighted with the gift! Another time, I gave my nephew a helmet with holders for beer and straws attached, he loved it and even his 60 year old mother had fun trying it out! I like to find things that are fun and frivilous and semi-functional! It's always fun to give someone something that not only they would enjoy, but everyone else can delight in as well!
