    I always try to encourage everyone i meet with positive greetings. if i can help elderly or just someone with a smile and make sure i do one good thing a day then i know i have made a difference in turning a negative into a postivde.

    I take my grandkids overnight when I think the parents need a break or just when I want them for a visit. i take care of my elderly mom, try to visit every few weeks and call alot to make sure she is ok.
    I have a Thursday night - Nana night with my 8 year old grandson, we order pizza and in the summer we get to gether with another nana & her grand daughter and we have a pizza party outside, we moved inside this week and my grandson & I put a blanket in front of the fireplace and we roast marshmallows and drink hot chocolate, the 2 of us have been doing Thursday for 2 years now....a Nana night .

    I try to bring sunshine into my loved one's life in many ways. Just by doing special little things for them like making them a nice home cooked meal or just taking the extra time to let them know how much I love and appreciate them every day. My husband and son mean everything to me and I want them to know that each and every day.

    I have a basket that I place little trinkets, toys, games, jokes, sample products or candies in, and so much more. My grandaughter considers it her treat basket, but my grown children and husband also frequent it, looking for something "special".

    I am grandmother, and a nurse who still does some private homecare for elderly shut-ins. Taking them to appointments and in general looking after their general well being. They are always so glad to see me as I love to bake and often take them so of the homemade goodies as well as spend alot of time with my grandchildren. I have them in the kitchen to teach them how to bake and cook as alot of baking has become a lost art. I also drive them to their activities when their parents aren't available and stay and watch their sporting events. I am lucky I have come from a family of care takers as mother had 10 children and taught us to be kind and helpful to others. Putting a ray of sunshine into my loved ones faces is a great feeling for me.

    Some of my friends have jokingly called me the "Hallmark Queen"... I pick up cards constantly - ones for a chuckle during a bad time, ones to just say hi or ones just to say I'm thinking of them. My boyfriend laughs when he gets a card from the cat telling him she loves him...

    I try to insure that I chit chat with them every morning. I have just recently retired and I make sure that I get up and going before my husband heads off to work and my daughter to university.

    We are a family of 4, with children age 2 and 4. My husband and I are kept very busy by these two adorable children. They are, and including my husband, the sunshine in my life. I believe that I bring sunshine to their lives by just being myself. I'm goofy, and I have no qualms about getting down on my hands and knees to play with my kids. Giving them airplane rides, and piggy back rides. My husband laughs at seeing this sight. We are a happy family, and laughter helps with maintaining that sunshine in our loved ones life. Of course, having a magic bag would help me after giving those piggy back rides!
